A Look At Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger

To those who do not know what the Super Sentai is... it's the Japanese version of Power Rangers. Or more like the original version of the Power Rangers. Anyways, back on topic... SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

A group of young pirates come from space to Earth to obtain the "Greatest Treasure in the Universe" (宇宙最大の宝 Uchū Saidai no Takara?). However, they end up facing the Space Empire Zangyack, whose earlier invasion forces were wiped out by the 34 Sentai groups long ago before a new invasion force is established under Commandant Waruzu Giru, the emperor's son. As a result, due to their history with the empire, the space pirates use the powers of the older teams and attempt to master their powers to fight the Zangyack forces as the Gokaigers.

Yes, you read that right. The new rangers uses the older teams powers by transforming into them with their ranger keys. Talk about broken much? I do think so. Although, to make sure they aren't that broke [not like I still don't think they are] they are to search out the older rangers and get the mystery into unlocking their true potential.

Seriously? Man, it's bad enough bad guys keep on losing like crazy, now you have a set of people with, as long as they possess the morpher and ranger keys, can change into any of the older SS? Gah!!!



For all you folks out there that are more into Power Rangers than Super Sentai [either by preference or by not knowing] then your Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers started from Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, in other words, the 16th season of the Super Sentai Series.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand.

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger provides us with the usual entertainment of people in costumes fighting monsters with ease. At the moment, 20 episodes were released and I can say I'm honestly not that disappointed in it.

We have character development, although quick, it's still there. We have them training their skills after a defeat. Interaction with the old rangers [mostly red rangers though]. Got some hints of shipping so people can start their own preferred ship. And more.

As usual, the bad guys don't really fit the awesome bad guy spot. However, a few of them were okay and about two of them are awesome. Yep, I admit, a guy turned alien thing that's revered by the Blue Ranger was awesome in his sword skills. And the other traitorous pirate with a trumpet that brings out Rangers was even more epic!

Next we have the usual extra ranger that joins later on. This time, we have another Silver Ranger who is a "fanboy" of the Super Sentai. Showing more knowledge about them out of the others. Why he got it? I have no clue.

Anyways, episode 20 shows us just how... uh... broken he is? I mean, he combines FIFTEEN ranger keys into one huge ass bulky armor! What it does?! I don't know yet!!! It just looks ridiculous and ridiculously broken at that!!!

Yes he's rather... eccentric...

As for his mecha... it's freaking AWESOME!!
