Ever since its leak, I've been playing the newly released of Pokemon: Black/White.
Gen 5 is interesting enough as it introduces a brand new set of Pokemon as well as attack moves. At the moment, I'm fooling around after the third gym leader. Catching the new sets of Pokemon here and there and getting the hang of the whole reading the moves in Japanese.
Some of them are easily enough recognizable as I've been playing the Japanese version ever since Sapphire set. However, I noticed many new different attack moves here and there. It wasn't hard to figure out what it does after wards when I used it and I am now currently working on a small database for myself.
Obviously, the game won't be translated until the English version comes out, but I couldn't wait to get a feel of how Gen 5 would be like. Story wise? I have barely any idea of what is going on other than what was already released by other Pokemon oriented website. Such as Serebii and the like. I'm not that adept in the whole reading department in Japanese. I, however, am able to read the attack moves, effects and Pokemon names as those are what are most important to me. Story can be damned for now.
So, I've been playing for a good ten hours now or so and I am quite satisfied by the whole release. With the new battle system presented to add more flavor to the bland taste of multiple Pokemon game repeats as well as the new presentation of new moves - obviously with the introduction of the brand new Pokemon list - it breaks off of the chain of repetition that I'm used to saying. Interesting enough, the whole 3D system looks nice, despite the fact that I'm used to the whole non three dimensional map system.
Another thing, TWO rivals instead of one? Thank you very much. Finally something that changes the whole rival battling thing. Now all I have to do is finish the game and get a good grasp on all the Pokemon/Moves and I can make a patch to make it harder. Ergo, Bloody Platinum, Neo Soul Silver and the like ^^ Happy playing ~~
For those who know how, give it a try, it'll give you something to spend the time on!
